The CombiPatch® Difference
CombiPatch offers:
- Efficacy with smaller daily doses as compared to orals. This does not imply differences in safety or efficacy
- Convenience of 2 dosing options
- For individualized therapy, 2 FDA-approved regimens
- The only transdermal combination hormone therapy (HT) that utilizes Delivery Optimized Thermodynamics (DOT) Matrix® technology
Transdermal Delivery Provides Therapeutic Levels With Smaller Daily Doses Than Orals
The hormones in CombiPatch pass directly through the skin and into the bloodstream. Orally administered estradiol is rapidly metabolized by the liver to estrone and its conjugates, giving rise to higher circulating levels of estrone to estradiol.
In contrast, the skin metabolizes estradiol only to a small extent. Therefore, transdermal administration can produce therapeutic levels of estradiol with lower circulating levels of estrone and estrone conjugates and smaller daily doses than oral therapy. The levels of hormones entering the body from CombiPatch are similar to the normal ranges seen at the early follicular phase in premenopausal women.
2 Dosing Regimens + 2 Dosing Options = A Patch Designed With Choice in Mind
CombiPatch allows you to respond to the needs of your patients, including breakthrough bleeding concerns, with a choice of Continuous Combined and Continuous Sequential regimens and two dosing options of norethindrone acetate (NETA).
Patients should be educated about the possibility of breakthrough bleeding and that it generally decreases within the first six months.
Source of Estrogen
For women who are interested in the source of the estrogen in their therapy, the estrogen (estradiol) in CombiPatch is chemically synthesized from a plant source. This does not mean that CombiPatch is safer or more effective than other hormone products. CombiPatch also contains progestin and is made specifically for women who still have their uterus.
